Welcome to Rose of Sharon.

The Rose of Sharon Community is a Holy Spirit-filled, full-gospel church and homesteading community focused on gathering and protecting the Lord's people, supporting and launching missionaries, and responding to the Almighty's direction in this late hour.  As Biblical prophecy unfolds, we believe that living sustainably with our brothers and sisters in Christ is the best protection against the growing volatility and corruption we see in the world.  Following an Acts 2 model, we believe that working together brings greater security and spiritual growth, no matter what we face.  If you are like-minded and on fire for the Lord, please connect with us!

Full-Time Discipleship

Full-Time Discipleship

We believe that life in Christ is 24/7 and that all we do is best served growing the Kingdom of God.  Through our community, which resembles the early church, we are doing life together in a manner that is inclusive of every need and struggle we face as the Body of Christ.  Continual sharpening comes through the work we do together, the breaking of bread, and our worship and praise.

Acts 2 Living

Acts 2 Living

Using the first-century church as our model, we have acquired a large homesteading property in eastern Tennessee, which we are developing into a fully self-sufficient community.  As world stability and culture decline, we feel that the Body of Christ is better served in a secure homestead environment, rather than in a large building on main street USA.  We invite all Christians to join us in our effort!

Launching Missionaries

Launching Missionaries

An important part of our assignment from the Lord is to house and launch missionaries doing Kingdom work throughout the nation. We wish to participate in delivering the Lord’s light to the darkness, saving as many lives and souls as possible. “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:37-38

Come and See

We love welcoming visitors! They bring new energy to our community and we appreciate the opportunity to learn from each other as we work, worship, share meals and times of relaxation together.

Other ways to connect:

Working Together

Working Together

We offer our talents and efforts in every way we can, right up to the end of our lives.  No type of work carries privilege or stigma.  It is our joy to serve through love in all we do.

Upholding Family Life

Upholding Family Life

We love to share in Godly upbringing and healthy activities that grow a child's creativity, social aptitude, and physical skills.  The presence of animals is also always a delight to our children

Private Education

Private Education

We believe that the current public education system is not always the best way to raise a child. Many in our community are Christian homeschoolers and we hope to offer private education very soon.

Supporting Each Other

Supporting Each Other

Whether healthy or infirm, young or old, wealthy or poor, everyone's welfare is a priority. As in Acts 2, those less capable are helped by those who are more capable. Meaningful work is available for everyone. We are all working together to build infrastructure that will sustain us in difficult times. Our unity will be our strength as the prophetic scriptures unfold.

Community Giving

Community Giving

A significant portion of our tithes and offerings go to supporting evangelistic missions, bringing light into the darkness, throughout the country. Another portion goes to disaster relief and to individuals in need. Internally, we fill the storehouse for those whom God has entrusted to our care, as scripture commands. We also continually improve and grow our shared community resources.

Governance

Governance

Each member is ultimately responsible for their own direction and inspiration from God, but we also agree to basic rules promulgated by the community.  The community's voting and governance structure was designed to be inclusive and meritocratic.  We specifically designed it to avoid personalities that would abuse power or attempt to dominate others.

"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Acts 2:44-47
